Md. Mizanur Rahman has been working at CEGIS since 2015 in the GIS Division. He is proficient in GIS and spatial analysis using ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and QGIS, with expertise in geodatabase management, cartographic map production, spatial data visualization, georeferencing, topology, coordinate system transformation, and terrain analysis (DEM, contour, hydrology). Training on Hydraulic & Irrigation Structure Design 16/09/2021 - 25/09/2021 Organized by: Center For Environmental and Geographic Information Services Venue: CEGIS main building, Gulshan-1 Participated in a training program on Design of Hydraulic Structures conducted by CEGIS, which provided comprehensive knowledge on the planning, design, and application of various hydraulic structures used for water management. The training covered key concepts of hydraulic structures, including flood prevention, irrigation, drainage, and river training systems. It included detailed discussions on structures such as sluices, regulators, embankments, canals, barrages, dams, and cross-drainage works. Special emphasis was given to flood control measures, tidal and submersible embankments, and irrigation systems for water retention and distribution. The training also introduced river training structures like guide banks and groynes for bank protection and flow regulation. Additionally, the program highlighted practical applications of hydraulic structures in Bangladesh, including case studies like the Ganges Barrage, focusing on flood management, irrigation improvement, and salinity control.
